The Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival (Philippines) is accepting films until March 5th, 2021. Here you can find more information about their call for entry. *Only for Filipino filmmakers*

About the festival:
The Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival is a key project of the Foundation first held in 2005 in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines. A competitive film festival, it serves as a concrete means to achieve its purpose to discover gifted filmmakers. It also aims to invigorate the Philippine film industry by developing a new breed of Filipino filmmakers.

General Rules:
– Only entries by Filipino filmmakers are accepted to the Short Feature Category.
– Interested participants may submit a maximum of three (3) entries but only one (1) entry per proponent may be considered as a finalist.
– Entries must have been produced within the period of February 29th, 2020 to March 5th, 2021.
– Films should not exceed the 20-minute mark.
– Short film entries that participated in other local and international festivals and competitions are qualified for the Cinemalaya competition. However, if an entry was submitted and is selected as finalist in both the Cinemalaya Shorts competition and Gawad Alternatibo, the said entry will automatically be removed from the Gawad Alternatibo lineup in favor of Cinemalaya.
– Dialogue should be primarily in Filipino or any Philippine language as appropriate, with English subtitles.
– Submitters should fill out the online entry form and upload their film and filmmaker’s profile at 17t CINEMALAYA FORM
– Offline submissions must send a copy of the film in a USB inside a brown envelope with other information.
– The festival gives cash awards for Best Film, Special Jury Prize and Audience Choice.
– Submission Fee: FREE
– Deadline: March 5th, 2021 (Friday) 6:00 pm (Local Time)
– Notification Date: May 21st, 2021
