7th Minikino Film Week – Opening Program

Chintya by Sesarina Puspita (Indonesia), Prophecy by Gladys Ng (Singapore), Dystopia by Laura Ugolini (Norway), Pain by Anna Rose Duckworth (New Zealand), Face Recognition by Martinus Klemet (Estonia), and Accidental Activist by Jinung Chung (Canada) will open the 7th Minikino Film Week – Bali International Short Film Festival which will run from September 3rd – 11th, 2021 in Bali, Indonesia.

This year the festival will screen over 200 titles from around the world. The Open Ceremony will take place at The Cellardoor, Hatten Wines Bali (Jl. Bypass Ngurah Rai No.393, Sanur Kauh, Denpasar Selatan, Denpasar City, Bali, Indonesia) on September 3rd, 2021 at 19:00 pm.

**Chintya** by Sesarina Puspita – Indonesia | 2019 – 24 minutes

One day a conservative family has a super annoying guest, Chintya. They politely welcome Chintya but secretly hate her present.

**Prophecy** by Gladys Ng – Singapore | 2020 – 4 minutes

Prophecy invites a contemplation of our earthly and spiritual existence through imageries that depict the vast and the minute.

**Dystopia** by Laura Ugolini – Norway | 2021 – 7 minutes

In the abandoned hangar of a young girl’s fantasy, a gang of bloodthirsty fashionistas figure out how to assemble the ideal man.

**Pain** by Anna Rose Duckworth – New Zealand | 2020 – 9 minutes

A young girl has an earth-shattering realization that her father is not invincible.

**Face Recognition** by Martinus Klemet – Estonia | 2021 – 7 minutes

Face Recognition failure – Deadbeat Igor-503 evades the cop detectors during a night of wild drinking.

**Accidental Activist** by Jinung Chung – Canada | 2020 – 22 minutes

An inspiring story on the ways El-Farouk Khaki has dedicated himself to creating a world of wellness and oneness as a gay Muslim.

MINIKINO FILM WEEK has been held annually since 2015. This festival was founded and organized by the Minikino committee as its parent organization, which has been working since 2002 in this field. Furthermore, the Minikino organization is under the Indonesian legal entity; Yayasan Kino Media.

Minikino Film Week International Short Film Festival reaffirms that short films are cultural products with cultural and social values from the artists who live in that society. The short film presents artistic achievements in a contemporary product that describes the latest cultural, aesthetic and social trends.
